EnviroSearch is committed to providing a work environment where employees feel that they are a valued member of the organisation, that they are treated fairly, and are given recognition for their contribution to the organisation's success. We also aim to provide an environment that fosters good working relationships.
We are committed to ensuring that employees and candidates are treated fairly and equitably when employment decisions are made and that discrimination does not take place.
Under Victorian and Federal Equal Opportunity Laws, discrimination based on the following attributes is unlawful:
We act on behalf of all our clients to ensure that the best qualified candidates are recommended for shortlist regardless of race, sex, marital status, physical and mental disability. In addition it is the responsibility of consultants to 'educate' our clients on the benefits of being open to female / male candidates when this is deemed appropriate. The type of roles that we recruit for (senior executive roles) are all open to female and male candidates and do not favour either gender. However, we will openly state on an advertisement that 'females are encouraged to apply' on the rare occasion that this may be deemed to be appropriate.
When recruiting for ourselves, we strongly encourage applications for all positions from either gender and we work hard to achieve 'gender balance' within our own organisation.
Harassment is any unwelcome or offensive behaviour or conduct that humiliates or intimidates the person being harassed. The fact that no offence was intended does not mean that the harassment is not unlawful.
The most common form of harassment is sexual harassment. Examples of sexual harassment include gender based jokes, attempts at overt sexual connection with an employee, touching or unnecessary familiarity, propositions and gender based insults or taunting.
Sexual or other types of harassment will not be tolerated by us and will result in disciplinary action being taken against those responsible if it does occur.
What happens if you have been discriminated against or harassed?
