The Opportunity
As one of Australia’s leading carbon offset providers, our client has helped Australian businesses reduce the environmental impact of their business operations. For more than ten years they have worked directly with some of Australia’s most recognisable organisations, and through their work they are helping to restore the Australian landscape through the creation of hundreds of bio-diverse native forests. With Australia’s carbon market set to grow rapidly in the coming years, this firm is gearing up for significant growth, and are looking for a Business Development Manager / Account Manager with specific expertise or interest in carbon and climate change.

The Role
As Business Development Manager / Account Manager, you will work with a number of well-established accounts, focusing on growth opportunities nationally within the business-to-business channel. Driven by your passion for environmental issues (particularly climate change and carbon), you will use your exceptional client relations and professional, consultative approach to deliver business growth. Your eye for detail will ensure applicable regulatory requirements are met, while your positive attitude and service-oriented mindset will deliver a positive customer experience to your entire client base. Note that training will be provided as needed to ensure that you are able to speak with confidence about Australia’s Clean Energy Future, Carbon Farming Initiative, and the national carbon offset market.

This is not just another high-pressure sales role, with pie-in-the-sky targets, ten hour workdays, constant staff turnover, and repetitive cold-calling. In this role you will be a trusted advisor, working in a positive and relaxed workplace to provide ‘win-win’ commercial solutions that help Australian businesses meet their carbon offset needs. At the same time, you will be making a real and tangible improvement to the Australian landscape through the creation of biodiverse forests, providing essential habitats for native Australian wildlife.

To be successful you must bring:

• A sincere and communicable commitment to environmental sustainability (particularly climate change and carbon)
• Consultative sales and account management capabilities in a corporate, service-based context
• Demonstrated capability to identify, engage and win business from Australian corporate decision-makers
• A university degree or related tertiary qualifications
